In the grand scheme of things, awards are neither here nor there. The creative creates because they hear the call of the muse and are compelled to express it in a way we can perceive. But art has always been and will remain to be subjective as soon as its seen by someone other that the creator. That being said, being involved in competitions and awards is a great way to push yourself past your known limitations to see what you can achieve. It's a great way to connect with other artists. It’s a great way to be inspired, and to stay humble. I am grateful for these things while becoming involved with various art awards over the years, and epically grateful for the wins I have had, and the opportunities they have brought for me and my family.
